About NPT Project

Neath Port Talbot COAST supports people who are unemployed to gain new skills and enter employment.

We support individuals who are out of work because of illness or disbaility (mental illness, learning disability, physical disability, sensory impairment), substance misuse, or young adults who are leaving the care system.

There are two teams within Neath Port Talbot COAST that offer different types of support; Person Centred Planning; and the Employment Team.

Person Centred Planning and Community Connecting

Person Centred Planning is a way of working out what you want in life, andwhat support you need toachieve it, Person Centred Planning has the person at the centre. In order to help you work out what you want, a number of tools can be used together with basic skills, soft skills and practical skills assessments. These tools and assessments will help you to identify your aspirations, and create a realistic plan to achieve them.

Community Connectors can help you to create links with different types of support that already exist in your community. This may be help to socialise, undertake training and learning, or accessing employment.

The Employment Team

The employment team will support you if you feel you are ready to find work, or just need a little help before you are ready. We can help you to move towards employment by:
 Building your confidence.
 Providing you with training/education./>
 Improving your work skills, and organising work tasters.
 Completing benefit checks.

If you are ready for employment we can support you by:

 Writing CVs and filling in job applications.
 Improving your interview skills.
 Job searching.
 Organising work placements.
 Supporting you in your workplace, so you have help to learn new tasks and get to know colleagues.

The aim of the employment team is to help you gain the skills to work, help you find a job that is right for you, and support you while you learn your new role.
